Voluma is a FDA approved dermal filler formulated to temporarily enhance the boney structures of the face. It can be used in areas including but not limited to the cheekbones, temples, and jawline. The filler is composed of hyaluronic acid, which is naturally occurring in the body. Voluma, which is a Vycross technology, differs from other fillers in that it has a high amount of cross-linking which allows it to last up to two years. A touch-up is usually necessary at around 1 year.

Voluma Injection Procedure

Voluma treatments are only provided through healthcare professionals who are expertly trained and experienced in dermal filler injection techniques. The treatments are given in a medical office setting, do not require numbing, and use a very fine needle to deliver the product. The filler works to enhance the boney structure of the face that can gradually break down and flatten over time.

Voluma contains lidocaine anesthetic to help decrease discomfort. In most cases, Voluma treatments are performed in just minutes and require little or no downtime. Bruising may occur no matter how experienced the injector. Cosmetic results can be instantaneous and can result in a younger appearance. Voluma treatment can last up to 2 years, after which time the body safely absorbs the biocompatible filler.
